Let’s Talk About Sleep Baby!

Let’s talk about sleep, baby
Let’s talk about you and me
Let’s talk about all the good things
And the bad things sweet, baby
Let’s talk about sleep
Let’s talk about sleep

Let’s talk about sleep for now
To the parents at home or on the town
It keeps evading anyhow
Don’t delay, dispute, or just boot the topic
‘Cause that ain’t gonna stop it
Now we talk about sleep on the patio and facebook groups
Babies all know parents jump through hoops
Let’s tell it how it is, and how it could be
How it was, and of course, how it should be
Those who think it’s great have a choice
Call up the doula, sleep train, or co-sleep in the room
Will that stop the chat? I doubt it
All right then, come on, vent

Let’s talk about sleep, baby
Let’s talk about you and me
Let’s talk about all the good things
And the bad things sweet baby
Let’s talk about sleep
Let’s talk about sleep

Forgot the teapot, make any mom’s eyes pop
She use what she got to get whatever she don’t got
Run through the house on tip toe, stop all the noise before they stir
Left her glasses in the nursery, the rest of the night was a blur
Karp, Sears, Grandma, and Babywise
Nothin’ she ever read was ever steady
Her nights for escape, now extinct
Swaddles, soothers, no cheat was too small for her to try
Or even play with, the sleep trainer she says was next on her list
And believe me, you, it’s as good as true
There ain’t a tool around that she wouldn’t get next to
She had it all in the bag
So she should have been glad
But she was tired and wired and uninspired
Thinkin’ about the ideals that she admired
No drill, just sleep, followed next with a smile and a coo
That last night was dope, dope

Take it easy now

Let’s talk about sleep, baby (sing it)
Let’s talk about you and me (sing it, sing it)
Let’s talk about all the good things
And the bad things sweet baby
Let’s talk about sleep (come on)
Let’s talk about sleep (do it)
Let’s talk about sleep (uh-huh)
Let’s talk about sleep

Parents
All the parents
Louder now, help me out
Come on, all the parents
Let’s talk about sleep, alright

Parents
All the parents
Louder now, help me out
Come on, all the parents
Let’s talk about sleep, alright

(Yo, moms, I don’t think they’re gonna play this on the radio
And why not? Everybody wants sleep
I mean, everybody should be makin’ love
Come on, how many parents you know make love?)

Let’s talk about sleep, baby
Let’s talk about you and me
Let’s talk about all the good things
And the bad things sweet baby

Let’s talk about sleep!
